Loan Watch: Onyedinma on target again for Wycombe

Throughout 2018/19, will keep up with the news of our players out on loan deals. Here we have the latest on the six Lions currently with their respective temporary clubs...

Ben Thompson – Portsmouth

Ben Thompson’s Portsmouth side were not in Sky Bet League One action over the weekend due to opponents Charlton Athletic being affected by international call-ups. Kenny Jackett’s men did however play last Tuesday night, securing a 3-2 Checkatrade Trophy win over a youthful Tottenham Hotspur outfit. Ben was however rested for the clash as an unused substitute.

Fred Onyedinma – Wycombe Wanderers

Fred Onyedinma turned heads once again for Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, scoring an emphatic opening goal as The Chairboys took a creditable point home from Sunderland’s Stadium of Light. Fred’s second-half strike broke the deadlock, before The Black Cats replied through Josh Maja late on.

Sid Nelson – Swindon Town

Sid Nelson played the full match for Swindon Town on Saturday, but was unable to prevent a heavy defeat for The Robins as Carlisle United took a 4-0 win from Wiltshire in Richie Wellens’ first Sky Bet League Two match in charge.

Tom King – AFC Wimbledon

Tom King was amongst the substitutes for AFC Wimbledon as they – like Swindon – began life after an outgoing manager. Caretaker boss Simon Bassey took The Dons to Doncaster Rovers, but were edged out 2-1 after taking a first-half lead in South Yorkshire.

Harry Donovan – Dagenham & Redbridge

Harry Donovan’s Dagenham & Redbridge ran out 2-1 winners in the Vanarama National League over AFC Fylde on Saturday afternoon. Harry was not in the squad on this occasion.

Dan McNamara – Welling United

Dan McNamara made his debut on Saturday as he embarked on his loan spell with Welling United in the Vanarama National League South, to gain valuable senior experience. Dan went straight into the squad for The Wings, making a successful start with a solid display in a 3-1 home victory over Weston-Super-Mare.
