Millwall planning lap of honour

Post-match plans for Sunday revealed

3 May 2018

Millwall play their final Sky Bet Championship fixture of the 2017/18 season when Aston Villa visit The Den this Sunday 6th May (12.30pm).

The game is a complete sell-out and fans needing to collect their match tickets are advised to arrive as early as possible to help avoid lengthy queues and also to ensure everyone is in their seats for kick-off.

Regardless of the outcome of the match itself, Neil Harris, his staff and the Millwall squad would like to take the opportunity, after full-time, to return to the pitch for a celebratory lap of honour. It will be a final chance to commend them for their efforts and, most importantly, to thank you, the fans, for your support throughout.

This will only be possible, however, if the pitch is kept clear once the final whistle is blown. An invasion of any sorts would unfortunately make the above impossible which would of course be a disappointing end to what has been an unforgettable campaign.

Throughout 2017/18 the club’s reputation has undoubtedly been enhanced both on and off the pitch and ending the season with a successful lap of honour would ensure that progress is maintained heading into a hard-earned and well-deserved break for management, players and fans alike.

Thank you for your co-operation.
