Neil Harris says new signing Murray Wallace epitomises what Millwall are about as a club after making the defender his first signing of the summer.
The 25-year-old joins The Lions after a successful three-year stint at Scunthorpe United, penning a long-term deal at The Den.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk Harris said: "Murray is one we've chased since the first day of the summer.
"He's been a great servant to Scunthorpe and been one of the best centre-halves in League One over the last three seasons.
"He's put in some very strong performances against us over the years and epitomises exactly what Millwall is as a football club in the way he plays."
He added: "He's very versatile. I've watched him play at left-back a couple of times and every time I've been impressed.
"He's an excellent addition to the squad and will provide great competition in both the centre-half and left-back positions.
"If you work with a tight squad you've got to have quality, and Murray possesses that. We're delighted to have him here."
