Millwall midfielder Harry Donovan is looking forward to gaining experience in 2018/19 after he put pen-to-paper on a one-year contract this week.
The 19-year-old is yet to make a first team appearance at The Den, but has earned a fresh deal after impressing with a string of fine performances in the Under 23s alongside a loan spell at Greenwich Borough.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk after signing, the tenacious midfielder revealed his delight at not only extending his stay, but also being back in pre-season training.
"I'm delighted. Each year, the aim is to try and earn yourself a new contract, so I'm delighted I was able to get one.
"It's nice to be back and be with the boys again - you're back doing what you want to be doing. It's hard work because there's a lot of running involved, but you come to expect it, that's what pre-season is about. I'm just enjoying being back playing football."
The new campaign may allow Donovan to join up with the first team matchday squad, but as well as that, the youngster has his sights set first team football elsewhere.
"For the first six months of the season, the aim for me will be to go out on loan and get some first team football and some experience."
