Millwall chairman John Berylson has glittering words for Jimmy Abdou's contribution to the club.
Berylson defines Jimmy as a ‘shining example’ to young players, with a vast desire to win and consequently fully deserves all the recognition he receives.
“In so many ways Jimmy is your archetypal Millwall player. He could keep running and tackling, driving his team forward, when others around him were tiring.
“He was a big-game player, someone who could influence matches on the highest stages. But Jimmy was also someone who never hid on cold Tuesday night matches in the middle of winter.
Like many, Berylson also credits the way Jimmy always conducted himself as a person during his decade at The Den.
“Jimmy has always been down to earth. He has no airs and graces, no ego, and was truly just so grateful for the opportunity to play for Millwall for so long.”
John Berylson's full tribute to Jimmy will be available in tomorrow's matchday programme.
