Millwall to mark 'Memorial Day' against Cardiff City

Itinerary ahead of kick-off...

9 February 2018

Millwall host Cardiff City LIVE on Sky Sports this Friday night at The Den (kick-off 7.45pm) - and the evening will see the club mark its first-ever 'Memorial Day' prior to the match getting underway.

Memorial Day will see the club remember supporters who passed away in 2017, whilst the eight people who were tragically killed in a car accident on their way to watch The Lions at Southampton in 1978 will also be remembered as the 40th anniversary approaches.

Millwall fans are advised to take to their seats early on the night, with the following occuring before kick-off against The Bluebirds:

- Lions captain Steve Morison will carry a wreath out from the tunnel, which will then be placed inside the centre-circle

- After the regular pre-match presentations, both sets of players will line-up around the centre-circle, with the referee's whistle beginning a minute of applause. At the same time, a 60-second video will play on the big screen, featuring all names sent in to the club

- The referee's whistle will end the minute of applause, with the wreath then placed behind the goal at Cold Blow Lane end

Millwall's players will also wear black armbands, whilst all names sent in will also feature in Friday's matchday programme.
