Goalkeeper Jordan Archer praises 'outstanding' team-mates

27 February 2018

Millwall goalkeeper Jordan Archer has praised the form of his 'solid and outstanding' team-mates ahead of the visit of Sunderland.

The Lions' stopper has risen to the challenge of The Championship, helping to keep a 12th clean sheet at Burton Albion to climb to 12th position in the League table.

"It's a credit to the whole team," Archer told millwallfc.co.uk.

"The back four have been solid and outstanding but even the attacking players defend from the front. It really is a team effort and I can't take credit for the clean sheets.

"At the start of the season I read that we were one of the favourites to go down. It's a testament to the boys and the staff how well we have done and I think there's only a couple of games where we have been outplayed."

Relegation threatened Sunderland will travel to SE16 this weekend seeking an upturn in fortunes. The Black Cats haven't won in six outings and will be desperate to climb off the foot of the table.

"Every game in this division is a big one," Archer added.

"You look at some of the ex-Premier League clubs and there are some big, big names. I'm sure the fans will come out in their numbers and when The Den is rocking there are not many teams that can come and take points off us.

"We are playing well but we won't get too carried away becuase there's still plenty of games to go before the end of the season."
