Morison seeking positive result at Blackburn

The skipper looks ahead to Rovers test...

10 August 2018

Steve Morison has stated that Millwall will be "ready" for what Blackburn Rovers have got this Saturday.

The Lions head to Ewood Park for their first away League game of the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship season and will look to build on a fine performance in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough.

Looking back on the opening day stalemate, Morison, speaking to, stated that conceding two late goals was "difficult to take," but attentions have quickly turned to gaining a first win of the campaign on the road - something that didn't materialise until January's stunning 4-3 victory at Leeds United in 2017/18.

"It was a difficult one to take because we were so good for 85 minutes. Monday was a frustrating day, but we got that out of the way and had a really good training session on Tuesday - a hard session, but good fun as well. Thursday and Friday we built up to the weekend, where focus changed quite quickly.

"We're on the road now and hopefully we can get that elusive first away win as soon as possible. We don't want to be waiting until halfway through the season this time."

Neil Harris' outfit face a Blackburn side fresh from promotion to The Championship and a season that ended with a 96-point haul, including 28 wins out of 46.

A winning mentality runs through Tony Mowbray's side - and that nearly continued last weekend, as an injury-time equaliser denied them a winning start at Ipswich Town.

Morison expressed the need to "tweak" a few things as The Lions look for all three points in Lancashire this Saturday.

"Blackburn are a good team. They came up with an excellent record last year. We've been working hard on them all week and we'll be ready for what they've got.

"Off the back of Saturday, if we just tweak a few things, we'll go there and put in a performance like we did away from home a few times last year and hopefully get a positive result."
