Fred Onyedinma and Ryan Tunnicliffe were on target as Millwall's Under 23s defeated Burnley 2-1 in the Professional Development League at The Den on Monday afternoon.
First team squad members David Martin, Ben Thompson, Jason Shackell and Aiden O'Brien all featured alongside the goalscoring duo in the young Lions' XI in their final outing of the season.
The game started as a midfield battle with chances at a premium - Burnley's first opportunity fell to Scott Wilson, whilst Onyedinma and Tunnicliffe had tame efforts for Millwall.
The Lions took the lead 10 minutes before the break through Onyedinma. Following a spell of passing football, Harry Toffolo's low cross found the frontman who turned sharply and curled an effort into the top corner.
Three minutes later, following a flowing move involving a number of Millwall players, Tunnicliffe struck low beyond Conor Mitchell to double the advantage.
Five minutes from half-time Burnley attempted to reduce the arrears, but Martin saved Macs Goodridge's shot well.
Shackell ballooned an effort over the crossbar as the second half got underway, whilst Tunnicliffe powered a shot into the grasp of Mitchell as the midfielder looked for his second of the afternoon.
Josh Benson weakly struck at Martin with 10 minutes remaining, whilst substitute Jesse Debrah made an expert challenge to deny Goodridge a shot on goal seconds after.
One minute from time Tinasye Chakwana drilled home from just outside the penalty area to halve the deficit, but Kevin Nugent's side held on to claim victory.
