Millwall boss Neil Harris has paid tribute to Jimmy Mizen ahead of 'Jimmy's Day' this Friday.
The Lions take on Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship LIVE on Sky Sports (kick-off 7.45pm) and with the eyes of a nation on The Den, 'Jimmy's Day' will be firmly in the spotlight.
Harris praised Barry and Margaret Mizen for their work over the past decade.
"For Jimmy is a great foundation, formed in very sad circumstances," he told millwallfc.co.uk.
"Barry and Margaret have become friends of the football club and have worked tirelessly with the community and the government over the years to try and rid our streets of knife crime and violence.
"What a great game to mark the occasion. I know the fans have got behind the foundation - Jimmy was one of our own. It will be a really proud evening for the football club."
Millwall CEO Steve Kavanagh also spoke of the need for The Lions to provide a "platform" for the message that the Mizens are putting across.
"Solutions need to be found and politicians need to look at what the foundation are doing and what we are doing as a football club to try and find a different way of dealing with this.
"There's got to be better ways of challenging this and we as a football club would support that fully.
"Fundraising is important to allow them to do their work day in and day out, but the platform to do that is hugely important and that's what we are giving them."
