Millwall Football Club can confirm that following a re-hearing, its appeal against the red card shown to Jed Wallace during the visit of Burton Albion has been rejected. The midfielder will now serve a three-match ban.
On receiving the written reasons of its initial appeal, the club raised a further procedural issue with The FA. This resulted in the club’s case being re-heard. Under the existing FA procedures, the same outcome was reached by The FA’s disciplinary committee.
The club maintains its stance that a review of the entire appeals process needs to be undertaken in order to ensure clarity and consistency in decision making for the good of the game.
