What a season!

A memorable 2016/17 campaign in photos...

30 May 2017

The 2016/17 season will live long in the memory for all concerned with Millwall Football Club.

A campaign that promised so much ended with the ultimate success, as The Lions defeated Bradford City at Wembley Stadium in the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final to win promotion to The Championship.

Along the way, a 17-match unbeaten run was formed, with nine consecutive games without conceding a goal nearing a club record. Four points were taken off close rivals Charlton Athletic and Gillingham, whilst an incredible run to the Emirates FA Cup Quarter-Finals saw Millwall defeat three Premier League teams at The Den - most notably reigning champions Leicester City, courtesy of Shaun Cummings' last-minute winner.

The emergence of young players like Harry Smith provided a shining light in the Checkatrade Trophy, whilst experienced campaigners such as 2016/17 MSC Player of the Year Steve Morison, who finished the season with 19 goals, led from the front.

Shaun Hutchinson headed The Lions into the Play-Offs on the final day in a never-to-be-forgotten encounter at Bristol Rovers, with Morison and Lee Gregory combining to send the club to a second successive Wembley Final in the Semi-Final second leg tie at Scunthorpe United's Glanford Park.
