Defender backs young Lions to thrive in do-or-die Semi-Final
Millwall will have it all to play for at Scunthorpe on Sunday following a goalless draw in the first leg of the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Semi-Final.
The Lions hogged possession for large parts of the tie but were unable to convert chances into goals in front of a deafening Den.
"We have to win on Sunday, it's that simple." Byron Webster told millwallfc.co.uk after the match.
"It's exciting times, nervous times. I'm sure there will be a lot of nerves out there but hopefully we can use them to get the result."
The centre-back made a number of crucial interventions to keep scores level on Thursday evening and knows how important it will be to shut-out the Iron again in the second leg.
"They will throw everything at us at their place, in front of their fans," the defender added.
"We have to be solid defensively and make sure we take our chances when we're on the attack.
"I truly believe that where you end up at the end of the season is where you belong. We have one final match now and we will be doing everything we can to make sure our season doesn't end at Scunthorpe.
"We have good leaders in the group and the youngsters have played a lot of games too. We have learnt how to deal with these high pressure situations this season and that should stand us in good stead.
More than one thousand Lions supporters are expected to make the trip north. A backing that Byron Webster believes will be crucial in the do-or-die match.
"Not many teams like coming to The Den so if we can make it more like a Den atmosphere at their place it's only going to benefit us."
