Millwall announce retained list

Lions confirm departures and ongoing contract talks

25 May 2017

Millwall Football Club can confirm that Joe Martin will leave The Lions when his contract expires at the end of June.

Boss Neil Harris has informed the full-back, who made 67 appearances for the club, that he is to be released.

David Forde, one of Millwall's greatest ever goalkeepers, is also leaving having enjoyed a successful promotion-winning campaign on loan at Portsmouth during the final year of his Lions contract. The Irishman departs after a remarkable 339 appearances for the club.

Midfielder Shaun Williams, whose current deal expires this summer, has been offered a new contract. The club is in ongoing negotiations with Shaun Cummings, Jimmy Abdou and Fred Onyedinma over new terms.

Young goalkeeper Harry Girling has been retained.

Elite Development Squad players Rian Bray, Kyron Farrell and Alfie Pavey have all been informed that their contracts will not be renewed.

Loanees Jake Cooper and Jed Wallace are returning to parents clubs Reading and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.

All other players remain under contract for the 2017/18 season.

The club wishes all those leaving the very best of luck for their future careers and thanks each of them for their outstanding efforts as Millwall players.
