Recently retired defender moves to The Den
Adam Barrett has joined Millwall as a first team development coach.
The 37-year-old recently hung up his boots to call time on a remarkable playing career which saw him amass 735 senior appearances during spells with various clubs including Plymouth, Bristol Rovers, Bournemouth, Gillingham and, most recently, Southend United.
As such the former defender brings with him a wealth of experience to The Den as he begins the next stage of his football career.
Neil Harris told millwallfc.co.uk: "We're delighted to bring Adam in as part of our coaching set-up.
"He has tremendous leadership qualities to add to the group, which is demonstrated by the fact that he has been captain of every club he has played for since the age of 23.
"Adam is held in high regard by all of his peers and will be hugely respected by everyone, young and old, in the squad.
"He's got real drive and enthusiasm, which is key at an important part of the season for everyone.
"Adam will be working at first team level but also with young players who are making the transition into the senior squad."
