Millwall Community Trust continued its ongoing tour of local schools with a special visit to Cherry Garden School in Bermondsey on Wednesday morning.
Since Millwall's promotion to the Championship the Trust has been visiting schools throughout the borough in order for pupils to have their photo taken with the Play-Off Final trophy and club mascot Zampa the Lion.
Wednesday's visit was organised by MCT Disability Officer Ben Perryman and Stephen Kilgour, deputy head at Cherry Garden, was delighted with its impact.
"The children responded so well and there was so much excitement in school," he said.
"It was amazing to see the Play-Off Final trophy in real life. Lots of the children were very interested to see how it felt and to see their reflection in the trophy.
"The children here at Cherry Garden have severe and complex learning needs and Zampa was very aware of that. He was calm, patient and friendly, joining the children at their level and engaging with them in their play.
"We really appreciated the visit and hope to do it again next year with the Championship trophy!"
