There's been very little downtime for Shane Ferguson this summer.
While most players jetted off to celebrate a promotion-winning season and soak up the sunshine, Ferguson packed his bags to join the Northern Ireland national squad in preparation for a crucial World Cup Qualifier against Azerbaijan.
"I only had a few days after the Play-Off Final to soak it all up and then I was off again," he told millwallfc.co.uk.
"It's been a busy period but it was good in a way because I was able to keep my fitness up. That should make this pre-season a little less exhausting!"
Since leaving on international duty, The Lions have made four summer signings and Ferguson says he's eager to see how the new additions fare in pre-season.
"Yeah it's good to see all the boys and finally meet the new players," he added.
"It's going to be good for those lads to get some minutes into their legs in the pre-season friendlies and those matches will help us gel as a team.
"It's great to be back. Everyone is excited to be back and we are just looking forward to making this season a successful one."
