Millwall Community Trust participated in their first ever competitive Down Syndrome event at Fulham Football Club's Motspur Park training facility.
Despite not winning the tournament, in which three other teams played, MCT impressed as they represented with pride.
Since the event, the participants on the entire programme have become hungrier for more competitive events and with the help of partners DS Active and Tennis Lewisham, MCT were able to hold brand new DS Tennis sessions. The inagural session saw 11 participants aged 6-15 attend.
MCT's football team also attended their first ever national tournament in Birmingham, where they took on the likes of Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
MCT wish to recruit two additional teams to the Down Syndrome programme - one Junior team (Under 16) and one Senior team (17 and above).
If there is anyone aged 5 and above who has Down Syndrome and wishes to be a part of this growing project, please contact Ben Perryman on 07973 794 823 or via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
MCT will be holding an event on 26th September to fundraise for DS Lions and Lion Cubs - further information will follow.
