"We appreciate the support," says Millwall captain

Skipper looks ahead to a busy period...

Millwall captain Tony Craig appreciates the support from Lions fans as the season swings into its second half.

The Lions are on an eight-game unbeaten run, but they now face the same amount of games in the shortest month of the year, beginning with Wednesday night's visit of Walsall.

With the visit of The Saddlers being the club's 22nd home match of the season in all competitions already, the financial strain on supporters is inevitable - but that's something the captain and his squad are fully aware of.

Speaking in tonight's match programme, Craig says: "Our form here at The Den has been very good recently, and with three of the next four matches at home, it is vital we continue in that vein.

"Whilst we love to play here, in front of our own fans as often as possible, we also recognise that there are implications for yourselves.

"This will be our 22nd home match of the season already, so with all the cup-ties, even those of you with season tickets are doubtless finding it difficult at times to keep finding the money to watch us play.

"We really do appreciate your support, especially on a cold Wednesday night in the middle of winter, and we'll be doing all we can to reward you."
