"This group have a never surrender sort of attitude," says young Lions boss
There was late drama at Dartford on Monday afternoon as Isaac 'Tanto' Olaofe struck in injury time to defeat Bristol City and extend Millwall U23s unbeaten run to three matches.
It look liked both sides would be forced to settle for a point until the teenage talent slipped into the area in the 91st minute and drilled home the only goal of the match.
"It was a scrappy game and could have gone either way," Justin Skinner told millwallfc.co.uk. "The group fought right to the death and they got their reward. They have a 'never surrender' type of attitude and I am pleased that they continue to show that desire to win games."
On a cold and windy afternoon where clear-cut chances were rare, the young Lions boss says Isaac 'Tanto' Olaofe's injection off the bench proved the difference.
"He has good pace and a knack of showing up at the right place at the right time.
"Tanto is a first year scholar so there is still plenty he needs to learn but he is coming along well. He played 90 minutes last week against Cardiff so I gave him another opportunity to play today. It's pleasing to see him grab his opportunities with both hands."
The young Lions will take a short break from Professional Development League action, next hosting Colchester United on 20th February.
"We will go away and look at where we can improve. We weren't at our best today and that will be something we address so we come back better and stronger next match."
