Winger commits to future at The Den until 2019Shane Ferguson has agreed to a new long-term contract that will see the winger stay in SE16 until at least the summer of 2019.
The 25-year-old has become an integral part of the squad since being loaned to The Lions by Newcastle United in 2015, before signing a permanent deal in January last year.
Today's contract extension is just reward for the Northern Ireland international, who has made 34 appearances in blue and white this season and scored 3 goals.
"It was an easy decision for me," Ferguson told millwallfc.co.uk "The boys in the team, the coaching staff and the fans have all made me feel at home here and I am excited to be staying.
"We have had some good results lately and I am glad to get my contract extension out of the way so I can focus wholeheartedly on the rest of the season.
Lions boss Neil Harris admitted it was a "top priority" to get the deal over the line, saying: "Shane adds real quality to our team, is a tremendous lad and a terrific professional.
"He's a big part of our squad, whether that is part of the starting line-up or from the bench, at left-back or on the wing.
"We had to be patient to bring Shane to the club last season and he's been outstanding during his time with us and long may that continue."
Ferguson will be available for selection for this evening's match against Port Vale at The Den. Tickets will be available right up to kick-off at 7.45pm.
