The Lions are expecting another searching test at Derby this weekend but Ben Thompson believes Millwall's momentum can help extend their unbeaten start to December.
Saturday's toppling of Middlesbrough made it three without defeat heading into the Christmas period - lifting the club to 17th position and just three points of 12th.
Thompson featured in the 3-1 win over Sheffield United at The Den earlier this month, a result that put an end to an underwhelming spell in which the club garnered one point from four matches.
"The boys have dug in really well over the last few weeks," the midfielder told millwallfc.co.uk.
"Getting the win against Sheffield United laid a platform for us and going up to Aston Villa, a massive club, I think we dominated the game and were unlucky not to get the win.
"That draw gave us momentum to see off Middlesbrough at The Den last weekend and there's no reason why we can't roll on against Derby."
The 22-year-old has been used sparingly over the course of the current campaign, but with the Lions playing four times in nine days between December 23 and New Year’s Day, he may get a chance during the packed Christmas schedule.
"There's a lot of games coming thick and fast," Thompson added.
"This period is massively busy for us and we just need to knuckle down and train hard and hopefully the results continue to come our way."
