Lions' Boxing Day encounter previewed...

24 December 2017

Millwall welcome table-toppers Wolverhampton Wanderers to The Den for a Boxing Day Sky Bet Championship clash this Tuesday afternoon (kick-off 1pm).

The Lions' Christmas period began with a 3-0 defeat at Derby County on Saturday afternoon, but Neil Harris' side will look to extend their home unbeaten run to four games as they take on Nuno Santo's side.

Manager Harris stated following the Pride Park defeat that he will wait until the morning of the match to pick his side, with so many games in a short space of time not allowing much recovery for knocks and niggles picked up.

Names such as Tom Elliott, Conor McLaughlin and Fred Onyedinma may come into contention, giving the manager the option to shuffle his pack with further festive matches against Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City in mind.

Boxing Day will see the two sides meet for the 43rd time, with Wolves up 21-11 historically. Diogo Jota's early strike settled matters at Molineux earlier this season, whilst the last meeting at The Den saw The Lions incredibly come back from 3-0 down to secure a point, courtesy of goals from Lee Gregory and Ricardo Fuller (2).
