Noel Leighton's second half strike wasn't enough to keep Millwall U23s from falling to a lively Ipswich outfit at Dartford on Monday afternoon.
The young Lions came into the match buoyed by a recent 5-1 thrashing of Barnsley and were bolstered by the addition of first-team players. Winger Fred Onyedinma returned to match action after coming off the bench in Millwall's draw with Gillingham on Saturday, joining midfielder Jimmy Abdou in the starting side.

However, it was Ipswich's first-teamers Dominic Samuel, Jonny Williams and Danny Rowe who created the opportunity for the visitors to open the scoring early in the match.
Millwall U23s found themselves two goals behind at the break but came back out determined to swing the match in their favour.
And when an inviting cross fell to Noel Leighton early in the second half, the Lions striker was able to soften the scoreline with a sweeping finish.
But his goal would ultimately be in vain as Ipswich survived an aerial barrage in the dying stages to record a 2-1 victory in their penultimate match of the Professional Development League season.
