Last-gasp defeat for young Lions...

Millwall Under 23s slipped to a last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Coventry City on Friday afternoon in the Professional Development League.

Jamie Philpot handed The Lions an early lead, but Jordan Ponticelli won the match for The Sky Blues in the 90th minute after Devon Kelly-Evans levelled proceedings.

Despite the loss, Adam Barrett's men have secured the runners-up spot in the Southern Section and will look ahead to a Semi-Final tie with Sheffield Wednesday after their final League match against Hull City.

Philpot turned home from close-range in the 10th minute, with Kelly-Evans equalising through a driving effort that beat Ryan Sandford.

Sandford was in fine form, thwarting many a City attack, but his efforts could not be replicated at the other end, with Mason Saunders-Henry heading Millwall's best chance wide of the post.

Late on, Ponticelli beat the offside trap and slotted home to hand Coventry all three points.
