Millwall welcome new Chief Executive from end of October

Neil Harris says that he is 'very much looks forward' to working with Steve Kavanagh, who will join as Millwall's new CEO on Monday 31st October.

Kavanagh replaces outgoing CEO Andy Ambler, who this week left the club after nearly a decade to take up a new position as head of professional games relation at the FA.

"We very much look forward to working with Steve," Lions boss Chopper told millwallfc.co.uk

"I know Steve on a personal level having been a player at Southend United and enjoyed a good working relationship with him.

"I had a fantastic working relationship with Andy (Ambler) and now look forward to the same with Steve.

"Steve is a good family man and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts in the footballing world to our club."

Kavanagh is a chartered accountant who started his career in football as finance director at Charlton, later rising to chief executive level before he became CEO at Southend United in October 2012.

He has worked in football for over 15 years on the administrative side of the game.
