Millwall keeper is set for England U18s action

7 October 2016

Ryan Sandford included in squad for Sweden double-header

Head coach Dewsnip will be looking for his young charges to build on last month's victories over Italy (2-1) and Israel (5-1), the latter of which Millwall's teenage prospect Ryan played in.

The England squad flew out to Scandinavia earlier this week and young Lion Ryan is set to feature in either tonight's game in Kungsangen or Sunday's second international in Taby.

Millwall youngster Ryan Sandford has been called up by England U18s and could be in action this evening when Neil Dewsnip's side play the first game of a double-header against Sweden U18s.

"We've got a really strong and exciting programme with the U18s this season," said Dewsnip. "We have this trip to Sweden and another mini-tournament in November against Poland and France.

"Next year, we go to Qatar which is also an early look towards the 2022 World Cup and then the final fixtures, which I'm really excited about, will be Argentina away.

"So we're excited about the whole programme this season and hopefully the players will be too and it will add value to their pathway on and up into the England senior team."

The England squad in full is as follows: Ellery Balcombe (Brentford), Ryan Sandford (Millwall), Jake Turner (Bolton Wanderers)Goalkeepers:

Defenders: Tolaji Bola (Arsenal), Jaden Brown (Tottenham Hotspur), Jonathan Dinzeyi (Tottenham Hotspur), Morgan Feeney (Everton), Ash Kigbu (Manchester City), Japhet Tanganga (Tottenham Hotspur)
