Defender opens up on his road to recoveryBy his own admission, it has been a "frustrating" few months for promising summer-signing Shaun Hutchinson.
But when the final whistle blew in Millwall U23s' 5-1 romp over QPR U23s on Monday, the burly defender cut a relieved and rapturous figure.
"It's a great feeling. That's my first 90 minutes on the pitch in a long time." Hutchinson told millwallfc.co.uk.
It has been a positive few days for the 25-year-old, who also made an appearance as a late sub last Saturday after coming off the bench for the senior side against Fleetwood Town.
Hutchinson sustained a hamstring injury in Millwall's mid-August match with Peterborough and after passing the latest test is finally back in contention for a return to the starting XI.
"It's been a frustrating time, not playing for so long," he added. "You just have to keep doing what you're doing and hope that it is worth it because you'll be back in the mix for selection.
"I have enjoyed playing with the U23s and lending my experience to help them develop as players, but in the senior set-up is where I want to be."
