Dave Livermore praises Millwall for "excellent" result

29 October 2016

Lions assistant boss delighted as his team chalk up fourth win in five games

Dave Livermore described Millwall's 2-1 performance at Oxford United as "one of the best of the season" as goals from Steve Morison and Aiden O'Brien secured a 2-1 victory at League One newcomers Oxford United.

The Lions did it the hard way too, coming from behind to cancel out Liam Sercombe's first-half opener to claim all three points thanks to a splendid Morison volley and clinical O'Brien finish.

"To come back from behind against a very difficult Oxford side was excellent," the assistant boss told millwallfc.co.uk. "It has to be up there with one of our best away performances of the season.

"We have to give our defenders a lot of credit. Oxford were very organised, but we closed down the spaces well and I felt we limited them to very few chances.

Speaking about Morison's 25-yard wonder goal, Livers added: "Goals change games, and what a goal that was! He bangs them in at training and it was great to see him score that one today."
