Come and support young Lions in FA Youth Cup action at The Den tonightMillwall's young Lions have been told that their attitude and approach must be "spot on" if they are to avoid a potential FA Youth Cup upset at home to non-League Worthing this evening (7pm).
Joint bosses Larry McAvoy and Chris Perry take their in-form team into action knowing that a win tonight would book a Second Round trip to Cambridge United.
However, the duo have warned their charges against complacency ahead of what promises to be a night to remember for both sets of young players.
"There have been quite a few upsets in this year's competition already with non-League teams beating League sides and League One sides beating ones in the Championship," Larry told millwallfc.co.uk
"We sat down with the lads yesterday and had a good discussion with them. We have got a lot of quality and pace in our squad, but we have to match our opponents will to win as well. Our attitude and approach have to be spot on, just as they were last year when we played both Dover Athletic and Woodbridge Town.
"In the Dover game we were 0-0 at half-time, didn't panic and our quality shone through to win the tie 2-0. In the next game at The Den we beat Woodbridge 9-1, and whilst we are not expecting that sort of score tonight, we will be looking for a similar type of entertaining performance from the boys.
"It is a fantastic experience for them to be playing at The Den under floodlights. It promises to be a great night - but we are ready, and the boys here are raring to go because they want a run in this competition."
Millwall's squad this evening includes two schoolboys - Junior Tiensia and Rob Strachan - who will join the likes of Lewis White, Noel Leighton, Eze Ebuzoeme and Danny McNamara, who have all been involved with, or on the fringes of, the U23s this season at some stage too.
The squad in full is: Sandford, McNamara, Tiensia, Hanson, Green, Strachan, Olaofe, Ebuzoeme, Day, L.White, Debrah, Leighton, Campbell-Mhlope, J.White, Queeley, Saunders-Henry.
Tickets priced at £5 adults and £1 U16s are available right up until kick-off from the Millwall ticket office, with parking at The Den available too.
