'Staying level-headed is key tonight,' says Lions assistant boss Dave Livermore

Millwall bracing for a 'passionate' FA Cup tie at The Den

It's fair to say Millwall won't have to look too far to find motivation for tonight's match against Southend United at The Den (7.45pm).

The Lions were already itching for another shot at The Shrimpers after falling to a 3-1 defeat at Roots Hall in September, but there will be far more at stake than revenge when the sides meet in this evening's rematch.

"You only have to mention the Emirates FA Cup for the boys to get excited," said Lions assistant Dave Livermore.

"As a club we have a proud tradition of doing really well in this competition, but it's about keeping the players grounded and treating it like any other match," he added.

Neil Harris will have a near full-strength squad to choose from, with defensive pairing Shaun Hutchinson and Shaun Cummings again available for selection after returning from injury.

Cummings featured for the Millwall U23s on Monday as the young Lions cruised to a fifth consecutive victory with a 4-0 thumping of Bristol City U23s.

Meanwhile, Southend United may see the return of Michael Timlin for tonight's tie following the experienced midfielder's lengthy spell on the sidelines.

"He adds a lot of energy and aggression to the Southend squad and we will have the be alert if he's included tonight," added Livers.

"They have had a good run of form lately, but so have we. It has all the makings of a great FA Cup match."
