"It's payback time!" says Fred Onyedinma

Lions wing wizard wants revenge in Friday's Emirates FA Cup clash

Millwall winger Fred Onyedinma has his sights set on "a little bit of payback" when The Lions hit the Emirates FA Cup glory trail at home to Southend United on Friday night (7.45pm).

Wing wizard Fred made his first ever appearance for The Lions as a second-half sub when the two teams met at Roots Hall, also in the FA Cup, back in January 2014.

On that occasion Millwall played the second-half with 10 men after Jermaine Easter had been dismissed just before half-time on an afternoon that also saw a floodlight failure as the lights went out on The Lions FA Cup campaign with a 4-1 defeat.

However, it is the more recent meeting between The Lions and Shrimpers in September that Fred is looking to avenge, as he explains: "They are the ones that started off our bad run when they beat us 3-1 at their place about six weeks ago.

"We didn't play to the best of our abilities then, so hopefully we get a good result and it's a little payback. More than anything, it's important that we continue to build on our recent run of results.

"The win we had against Gillingham before the last international break was important and really helped set the tone because we have gone on to win four out of the last five games.

"You never know who you are going to get in the next round of the FA Cup, but we want to make sure that we are in the draw for the Second Round."
