Following a pitch inspection tonight's game at Colchester goes ahead

Millwall's U23s Professional Development League match at Colchester United tonight will be going ahead following a pitch inspection on Monday afternoon.

Following a weekend of steady rainfall, a local referee checked the playing surface at the Weston Homes Community Stadium to assess its readiness for this evening's fixture.

Now he has given the go ahead, Justin Skinner's charges will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to eight games at the expense of The U's.

With The Lions in senior action at home to AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday, coach Skinner has named an U23s squad with a really youthful look about it.

Youngsters such as goalkeeper Ryan Sandford, striker Noel Leighton and defender Ryan Green, all of whom featured for the U18s in the FA Youth Cup last week are included in the travelling party, along with the likes of Lewis White, Kyron Mundle-Smith and Danny McNamara.

Squad: Sandford, Brown, Chesmain, Donovan, Green, Rooney, L.White, Farrell, Leighton, Mundle-Smith, Wylde, Jackson, J.White, McNamara, Ezuboeme, Day.
