Young Lions face their toughest test of the season
Millwall U21s face their toughest test of the season when they lock horns with Huddersfield Town in the Professional Development League 2 Play-Off semi-final on Tuesday afternoon (2pm).
Justin Skinner's young charges have surpassed all expectations and qualified for the end of season Play-Offs following a stunning run of just one defeat in 19 PDL2 south fixtures.
The young Lions' achievement is more remarkable considering the frequency with which boss Skinner has adapted his starting XI with early season regulars such as John Marquis, Alfie Pavey, Noah Chesmain and Keaton Wood all going out on loan.
This afternoon's match at Town's PPG Canalside training complex pitches Millwall, runners-up in the southern section of the league, against Frankie Bunn's Town side who finished top of the PDL2 north table.
The Terriers also bagged 62 goals from their 30 games to put them top of the pile as the highest scorer across the two regional divisions.
Skinner's travelling squad includes Kris Twardek and Jamie Philpot, both of whom were on the bench for the senior side at the weekend, along with centre half Sid Nelson who has made 14 appearances for Neil Harris' team this season.
Millwall will need no motivation for today's game with the victor facing the winner of the other semi-final between Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United in the PDL2 Final.
The Lions travelling squad is as follows: Girling, Barton, Brown, McNamara, Nelson, Bray, J.White, Chesmain, Donovan, Twardek, Ebuzoeme, Farrell, Otudeko, L.White, Pavey, Philpot.
Admission to today's game is £1 per person, for which you will receive a team sheet.
