Skipper praises vocal backing of Millwall supporters

Lions skipper Steve Morison has praised the vocal support of Millwall fans this season - and believes that it could be a crucial factor in determining whether the team can achieve its promotion ambitions.

An early goal from debutant Chris Taylor secured three points for The Lions against Sheffield United on Saturday. However the superb backing of the home fans, especially when Neil Harris' men were under sustained periods of pressure in the second-half, gave the team real encouragement.

Speaking to the press after Saturday's game Steve said: "It was a brilliant atmosphere against Sheffield United. The more success you have the more the fans come through the doors.

"It's like when I was here before and it's starting to build up again."

The Lions face two tough tests against teams very much in the promotion mix this coming week, with a trip to Play-Off rivals Bradford City this Saturday followed by a mouthwatering televised home clash with table-topping Burton Albion.

Steve added: "You can see what a difference our support makes. Hopefully our fans can help drag us over the line."
