George Lawrence and Mahlon Romeo on Lions Live

10 March 2016

Tune in for another top show direct from The Den tonight

In 1987 an ambitious young midfielder jumped on the first stagecoach out of Southampton and headed for the bustling environs of south London.

Just one season later and the same player was heading for the bright lights of the top flight alongside team-mates such as Teddy Sheringham and Terry Hurlock, having played a key role in clinching Millwall's historic promotion to the First Division.

Lions legend George Lawrence helped Millwall through one of the most successful periods in the club's history before leaving on an itinerant career path which would include spells abroad in Finland and on the Mediterranean island of Malta. George will be in the Lions Live studio tonight to relive some of his more memorable moments.

"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?". In the Lions Live studio is the simple answer to that question. The young defender - that's Mahlon, not the doomed Shakespearean lover - will be joining the team in the second-half of tonight's programme to talk about his impressive trajectory into the Millwall senior ranks.

Those paying close attention to the team's warm-up session before Saturday's Blackpool win would have noticed the Jimmy's Day T- shirts being sported by members of the senior squad. One of those exclusive t-shirts will be heading to the winner of this week's competition, so have your phones at the ready.
