Alan Dunne and Ben Thompson on Lions Live

17 March 2016

Tune in for another top show direct from The Den tonight

In 1990, whilst joyous protestors were shoving bits of the Berlin Wall into their bulging rucksacks, and Mrs Thatcher was signing off after 11 years of benevolent governance, a shy young irishman was signing on for the Millwall Academy. Alan Dunne would spend the next 23 years at the club racking up an impressive 388 appearances and cementing his place in the club's history. His new book "Dunne It The Hard Way" recalls those embryonic years in South London and his early days as a professional footballer. Now plying his trade at Leyton Orient, Alan will be in the Lions Live studio tonight to talk about his first foray into the literary world.

Second on tonight's programme, a young man making a big impression on the pitch this season. Ben Thompson made his senior League debut against Coventry in August, and is currently busy populating his Man of the Match trophy cabinet - a larger cabinet may soon be in order. The young midfield dynamo will be talking to the Lions Live team tonight about his introduction to first-team football.

For those among you with a competitive streak, this week's competition prize is one to keep. A signed copy of Alan's new book plus two tickets for Saturday's clash against Sheffield United will be heading to the lucky winner.
