Morison confident of Millwall progress

Striker looks ahead to the new campaign

Steve Morison believes he and his team-mates should be confident that Millwall can "progress further" in the upcoming 2016/17 season.

The Lions enjoyed a memorable campaign last time out with Morison very influential in a side which passed the 80-point mark and finished fourth in League One.

And while 2015/16 ended in disappointment with defeat in the Play-Off Final, Morison believes Neil Harris' men will be better for the lessons learned from the previous season.

"We certainly won't be dwelling on what happened at Wembley," he told millwallfc.co.uk

"Instead we'll be looking back at what a great year we had and trying to use it as a platform to build on for this coming season.

"On a personal level I felt better and better as last season went on but ultimately, in terms of how well you play as an individual, that all comes down to the team and how we perform as a unit. In the second-half of the season especially we played some good football and picked up some impressive results along the way.

"We will be better from the experience of last year and with the new signings we've made, as well as the fact the younger players have many more games under their belts, then we have to be confident that we can progress further."
