Millwall face Barnet away in EFL Cup First Round

22 June 2016

Lions face Bees in Round One for second successive season

Millwall face the short trip to Barnet in the EFL Cup First Round following Wednesday afternoon's draw.

The Lions have only met The Bees twice in competitive action - both in Cup competitions - and will be hoping to record a first win against their north London opponents.

League Two Barnet caused an upset last season when they knocked Millwall out of the competition at the First Round stage at The Den with a John Akinde extra-time winner.

The only ever previous meeting between the two clubs was back in 2009-10 when, on an unseasonably cold night at Underhill, The Lions slipped to a 2-0 defeat. Kenny Jackett's side put that result firmly behind them, however, and went on to win promotion the following May.
