Youngster Mahlon working hard
Millwall right-back Mahlon Romeo is taking nothing for granted as he looks to play regular first team football once again this coming season.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a memorable breakthrough campaign last time out, finishing 2016/17 as the club's number one choice at right-back until suspension saw him sit out the Play-Off campaign.
Romeo will have competition for his place when Shaun Cummings overcomes a long-term injury, in addition to young defender James Brown, and the Antigua & Barbuda international insists his only focus at the moment is impressing manager Neil Harris.
"You miss it more than you think. It's nice to have a week or two to rest and put your feet up but then it's good to get back training.
"Naturally I feel a more experienced player now but I'm approaching this (pre-season) exactly the same in terms of still trying to impress the gaffer by working as hard as I can.
"Everyone is buzzing for the first match now. We'll stay focused and make sure we are ready for Oldham."
