Harris looks ahead to Dover friendly

25 July 2016

'The game will be a good test' says Lions boss Neil

Millwall manager Neil Harris believes that Tuesday night's friendly at Vanarama National League side Dover Athletic is a good opportunity for members of his squad to stake their claim for a starting place when the League One campaign starts on 6th August.

Boss Neil has so far utilised his squad to great effect during a pre-season run that has seen The Lions record victories at Bromley (2-1), Dartford (3-0) and most recently Crawley Town (3-2).

He is again expected to hand a mixture of both senior and younger players a chance to not only get useful match minutes under their belt against Dover, but further impress as the countdown to the season's opener at home to Oldham Athletic fast approaches.

"The game will be a good test for a group of players who need some more minutes out on the pitch," Chopper told millwallfc.co.uk.

"The squad will be a combination of senior and Elite Development Squad players, so we will be putting out a competitive team against a strong Dover side.

"Our pre-season preparations have gone really well so far, both in terms of training and friendly matches and Tuesday's game is another vital exercise ahead of Saturday's Testimonial game against Brentford."

Tickets for Tuesday night's game at the Crabble are priced at £15 adults, £12 over 60s, U18s £6 and free for U11s when accompanied by a full paying adult.
