Ferguson set for Millwall return

22 July 2016

Winger Shane in line to feature this weekend

Shane Ferguson is set to make his first appearance of pre-season when Millwall play Crawley at the Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

The 25-year-old was granted additional holiday time after his Euro 2016 exploits with Northern Ireland and as such only returned to Calmont Road for pre-season training last Friday.

Since then the left-winger has been playing catch up on his Lions team-mates but he should have the opportunity to increase his match fitness with a run out against The Reds this weekend.

"Fergie is popular in the dressing room and out on the training pitch so it's great that he is back with us," Millwall boss Neil Harris said.

"He's had a good, successful summer away with his country and the quality he has on the pitch and in training is second to none. As soon as he steps into a session the quality rises.

"We've had to make sure he has had a solid week with the view to integrating him with some minutes at Crawley."
