Millwall boss Harris praises 'outstanding' Forde

5 January 2016

Keeper has "taken his opportunity", says the manager

Neil Harris has praised Millwall goalkeeper David Forde for his "outstanding" performance against Barnsley last weekend.

The Irishman pulled off a string of excellent saves at Oakwell and was unfortunate to be on the losing side.

With Jordan Archer suspended, Forde returned to Millwall's starting line-up in last month's game against Walsall and has played well since, much to the approval of his manager.

"I thought Fordey was outstanding on Saturday," Harris said.

"It was unfortunate for Jordan with the red card but Fordey has taken his opportunity to come back in and has performed outstandingly well.

"He has given us some real leadership and his performances on the pitch have been very high.

"I thought he made a couple of really good saves (against Barnsley) and looked assured."
