Millwall U21s secure victory over Bristol City

1 February 2016

Own goals gifts The Lions another win

Millwall's U21 side continued their superb form this season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bristol City on Monday afternoon.

In extremely windy conditions at Failand, Jack Powell's inswinging corner was turned into his own net by Arnold Garita during the opening half for the game's only goal, much to the delight of Elite Development Squad boss Justin Skinner.

He told millwallfc.co.uk: "The boys did extremely well to dig in and secure another really positive win.

"It's especially pleasing when they do so away from home, just as they have done on numerous occasions already this season.

"The wind made for difficult conditions for both sets of players but I thought we adapted well and Jack Powell's deliveries from set-pieces caused them problems throughout, so it was no surprise that we scored from one.

"I'm extremely proud of the group yet again because we had a lot of younger lads out there who played very, very well."
