Millwall U23s face Charlton U23s at Bromley today

12 December 2016

Shaun Hutchinson included in young Lions squad

Bragging rights are at stake this afternoon when Millwall U23s host Charlton Athletic U23s in a Professional Development League derby at Bromley FC's Hayes Lane (2pm).

Today's game is a dress rehearsal with The Lions and Addicks set to lock horns in a crunch League One clash at The Den on Wednesday 21st December.

Justin Skinner's young charges have been on a fine run of form and bounced back from a 4-1 defeat at Colchester United - their first loss in eight games - with a splendid 3-0 win on the road at Crewe Alexandra last time out.

With a heavy first team schedule in December, U23s boss Justin includes a sprinkling of U18s in his squad for today's game, including right-back Danny McNamara, midfielder Eze Ebuzoeme and striker Noel Leighton.

The most notable senior player expected to get some match minutes under his belt is defender Shaun Hutchinson, who continues his rehabilitation following a spell sidelined. Fellow centre half Christian Mbulu, on the bench for the first team against Shrewsbury Town at the weekend, is also set to feature.

Millwall's squad to face Charlton is as follows: Sandford, Jackson, McNamara, Chesmain, Mbulu, Bah, Hutchinson, Bray, Farrell, Ebuzoeme, Twardek, Pavey, Philpot, Mundle-Smith, Leighton, Bray, Hanson.

Admission is priced at £5 all ages.
