Lions stars raise spirits in Lewisham

Lions players including Steve Morison, Jordan Archer, Tony Craig, Fred Onyedinma and Byron Webster paid their annual pre-Christmas visit to the children's wards at Lewisham Hospital on Thursday afternoon.

Millwall mascot Zampa was also in attendance as the players raised some festive spirits by handing out gifts including scarves, calendars, posters, programmes and soft toys to youngsters across various wards.

The group posed for photos and signed autographs throughout, including during a trip into one of the A&E wards as well.

Millwall defender Byron Webster said: "It's fantastic to see the smiles on the kids faces, they really light up when we pay them a visit."

"I really enjoy coming down to Lewisham hospital and meeting these brave kids. It's inspirational when you hear of the hardships they, and their parents, are going through.

"Getting involved in trips like this are an example of the spirit in our team and the type of characters we have at the club. We just wish everyone at the hospital a very merry Christmas."
