Young Lions in action against Hornets

Millwall U23s are in Professional Development League action against Watford this afternoon with boss Justin Skinner urging his side to sign off the year on a winning note.

Skinner's charges have been in consistent form this season, with a 4-1 reverse at Colchester United their only defeat in the last 11 outings.

"The team has had to chop and change a bit, but we have been able to cope with that," Justin told

"The fact that we all try to play the same, give the same message, from the youth teams through to the senior side really does help especially when the lads step up from the U18s, because they have adapted really well.

"Watford are going to be tough today; they are a top outfit and did beat us by the odd goal in five when we played at their place in August.

"But we want to sign off the year with a decent performance and good result and will try our level best to get that this afternoon."

Teenage defender Ryan Green, pictured, will be handed an opportunity to impress as he is expected to get the nod in the back four with both Paul Rooney (Torquay) and Rian Bray (Leatherhead) currently out on loan, whilst fellow U18s including Noel Leighton, Eze Ebuzoeme and Ryan Sandford are also included in the squad.

Squad: Girling, Sandford, McNamara, Chesmain, Donovan, Green, Mbulu, Farrell, Twardek, Ebuzoeme, Leighton, Mundle-Smith, Philpot, Pavey, L.White, J.White.
