Winger speaks ahead of season openerDavid Worrall says he has been impressed by the set-up at Millwall during his first few weeks as a Lions player and hopes to make his full League debut against Oldham Athletic in this Saturday's opening game of 2016/17.
The winger, who arrived at The Den at the start of July after the end of a two-year spell with Southend United, has looked sharp during pre-season and set up a goal inside three minutes of his first outing for the club in the friendly against Bromley.
He got his first taste of what it is like to play for Millwall in SE16 last weekend, featuring from the start against Brentford in Tony Craig's Testimonial, and hopes to be involved this Saturday when Oldham, one of his former sides, visit for the campaign's opener.
Speaking in Millwall's new-look matchday programme the 26-year-old said: "I have been very impressed with the set-up here at Millwall. It is very different from every other club I've been at.
"Everything is done right and preparation is meticulous, even for friendly matches.
"There is also a real emphasis on hard work. I don't think I've done as much running in my life, but the way the gaffer wants us to play involves getting our shape back immediately when we lose possession. We watched a few videos at the start so the manager could show us what he expected of us, and it is vital that everyone buys into it.
"We have a very strong squad here with a mix of older pro's and talented youngsters who the gaffer keeps on top of. I'm really looking forward to the season. We'll be going out to win every game and although we'll have set-backs I'm sure, I'm very confident we'll have a good one."
The ex-Latics man added: "I'm pleased to be facing Oldham first up. Hopefully I'll be playing and can score a goal, as I did against them last season.
"There have been big changes there recently so I don't know too many of their players now. For us it's all about getting off to a good start, hopefully with a win."
