Lions set for changes at Stadium MK
Neil Harris looks likely to shuffle his pack on Saturday when Millwall travel to MK Dons in their first away League game of the 2016/17 season.
The Lions opened their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Oldham at The Den last weekend and followed that up with a 4-0 success over Barnet in the EFL Cup.
Harris made five changes to his starting line-up for the game at The Hive and could well do similar for this weekend's trip to Stadium MK as he looks to keep his squad fresh and fit in the early part of the season.
Lee Gregory came off at half-time during the game against Oldham and while he was fit enough to take a place on the bench in midweek, Harris will want to assess his striker before risking him from the start on Saturday.
In Gregory's potential absence Fred Onyedinma, Aiden O'Brien or Jamie Philpot could well feature alongside Steve Morison up front, though Harris has hinted to Lions PlayerHD that he is considering an alteration to his team's formation to combat the strengths of Karl Robinson's side. That may mean a start for Jimmy Abdou in order to bolster the centre of midfield alongside Ben Thompson and Shaun Williams, who looks set to play against his former club for the first time.
Shaun Cummings remains absent with a long-term injury and the game may come too soon for defender Shaun Hutchinson, who came off during Tony Craig's Testimonial with a hamstring problem.
As for MK Dons, they have this week broken their transfer record to sign striker Keiran Agard from Bristol City. The 26-year-old, who has twice won promotion from League One, is almost certain to be in the squad on Saturday and Robinson may well be tempted to name him in the starting line-up.
The Dons won their opening League fixture 1-0 at Shrewsbury Town last weekend and, despite making 11 changes, also beat Newport County 3-2 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. Robinson is likely to field a similar team to the one which featured on the opening day, however, which would include an appearance from former Lion Ed Upson, who set up Daniel Powell's winner at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium.
