Harry bags his first goal for The Lions in narrow defeat by Bolton
Harry Smith scored his first goal for Millwall, but it wasn't enough to prevent the young Lions slipping to a narrow 2-1 Professional Development League defeat against Bolton Wanderers on Monday afternoon.
Smith, 21, who signed from Folkestone Invicta just two weeks ago, was perfectly placed to head home a delicious 80th-minute cross and cancel out the visitors' opener.
But Bolton grabbed an injury-time winner from a corner to condemn Justin Skinner's charges to a second successive loss.
The Professional Development Squad manager was in positive mood afterwards, however, stating: "It's always going to be disappointing to lose a game in the last moments but I was really pleased with a lot of our play during the game.
"It was a much better performance than against Sheffield Wednesday and I thought between both boxes we were good. We created lots of chances - more than Bolton, in fact - but we were just not quite clinical enough.
"I'm pleased for Harry that he got his first goal so hopefully he can now kick on in a Millwall shirt. It will give him plenty of confidence."
